Job Summary:
The Manager Supply Chain - Solution Architect for Distribution Center Planning and Allocation Application serves as the subject matter expert and single point of contact for both internal and external demand and supply planning teams. This includes internal Walgreens team members, external off-site business support team members, and external vendor joint business partners representing some of Walgreens’ largest suppliers. The manager must demonstrate excellent communication skills and a solid foundation in end-to-end supply chain processes, systems, and technologies, covering consumer products and owned brand manufacturing, distribution center and store planning and execution, and retail store operations.
The role is responsible for supporting daily operations by working closely with planners and managers who are reviewing and releasing orders, acting as liaison to IT application support teams in order to mitigate, troubleshoot and prioritize resolutions to critical systems issues and to minimize impact to business performance. The manager must have exceptional problem solving and critical thinking skills to perform the root cause analysis required to identify current issues and prevent future issues.
The role will provide requirements to the IT application development teams for system and process enhancements that will drive future improved business effectiveness. The role champions solutions that address business needs, prioritizes and manages project backlogs, and incorporates feedback from business team members to guide continuous improvement in processes and solutions. The role will facilitate the development and translation of high-level business requirements into detailed functional requirements, assist in solution design, and develop and execute comprehensive user acceptance testing, documentation, training, and communications of new and improved solution capabilities.

Job Responsibilities:
- Manages day-to-day activities of a group of employees. Assigns, monitors and reviews progress and accuracy of work, direct efforts and provide technical guidance on more complex issues. Oversees and initiates the hiring, firing, and performance review processes.

- Provides guidance to departmental employees working within the latitude of established policies. Develops procedures that affect the area under management.
- Outlines specific objectives and processes that are focused on generating innovative solutions to business problems.
- Develops and submits ideas which support the achievement of innovative goals. Implements innovative processes or changes that support the goals of the function or department.
- Manages, develops and controls departmental expenditures against the expense budget.
- Develops and mentors staff through on-boarding, open communication, training and development opportunities and performance management processes; builds and maintains employee morale and motivation; ensures the team is appropriately staffed with required competencies; fosters a diverse and inclusive workplace.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree and at least 2 years of experience in a supply chain or business role OR a High School Diploma/GED and at least 5 years of experience in a supply chain or business role.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree and at least 4 years of experience in a supply chain or business role OR a High School Diploma/GED and at least 7 years of experience in a supply chain or business role
- Strong working knowledge of JDA / BlueYonder Fulfillment and Order Optimization and Dynamic Allocation applications (or equivalent)
- Demonstrated skill in data analysis and SQL query tools optimized for aggregating and dissecting large datasets
- Project management and multiple full lifecycle systems implementations experience
- Team player, organized, self-motivated, and capable of independent work
- MBA/Master's Degree
- APICS CSCP Certification
Salary Range$98900 - $158200 / Salaried
