Job Summary:

This role assists with departmental schedules, reviews/adjusts workflow balance as needed, and provides support to the Supervisor. This position also performs the duties of the Specialist Inventory Control as needed.
Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for assisting fellow team members with inventory control issues, within established procedures and practices; oversees the more complex issues related to inventory control and assists with issue investigations.
- Under the direction of the Supervisor, provides support to Inventory Control Specialists and assists with completion of operational duties, including, but not limited to, receiving, cycle-counting, pharmaceutical dead stock, reverse logistics, and database administration to facilitates inventory processes.
- Assists in developing, updating, and implementing Standard Operating Procedures related to insurance verification; assists supervisor with department schedules and reviews/adjusts workflow balance based on business needs.
- Works with Purchasing department to identify potential stock/product shortage situations.
- Participates in activities in regard to disposition of recalls, over-shipments, formulary changes, and new product availability; responsible for write up of medications returned as salvage.
- Identifies shipment errors for product to be pulled from available inventory and returned; identifies for management new products, changes, and manufacturer production/supply problems in order to facilitate.
- Supports pharmacy efficiency through appropriate assignment of stock locators for new products and works in conjunction with the department manager to reassign stock locators as necessary to improve pharmacy flow.
- Ensures purchase orders and other inventory control records are properly processed and maintained in accordance with established standard operating procedures; assists in logging invoices and maintaining invoice/packing slip files; processes paperwork as requested by management; responsible for maintenance of return label system.
- Reconciles manufacturer and wholesaler discrepancies to include damaged goods, over-shipments, short¬ dated merchandise, and merchandise billed but not received to ensure product is returned or equitable credit is issued.
- Receives, validates, and stores incoming medications and supplies as per manufacturer recommendations and corporate policies and procedures; assists in conducting physical inventory.
- Other responsibilities as judgment or necessity dictate.

Basic Qualifications
- Associate degree in healthcare, business, or related area of study; or equivalent combination or education and/or relevant work experience
- 1-2 years' work experience in packing and receiving inventory.
- Willing and able to lift 40lbs in repetitive motion and work in a fast-paced production environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Effective communication and problem solving skills, and ability to prioritize and multi task
- Strong initiative and the ability to work in a team environment
- Must have an active pharmacy technician license or certification as required by state Board of Pharmacy.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products
