Job Summary
Manages the evaluation, measurement, monitoring and control of existing and new projects/programs related to Global Finance Strategy and Transformation (GFST). May oversee or project/program manage the implementation of process enhancements/advancements. Ensures that project outcomes are in harmony with the strategic goals. Works collaboratively across all departments of the organization to help improve the management of projects, business processes, vendors and meet the business goals. Manages the GFST fiscal projects from demand through project closure, including the process for identifying, prioritizing, selecting, and resource planning and program budget.

This role can sit at any of our Central Services location:
Chandler AZ, Miramar FL, Orlando FL, Deerfield/Chicago IL

Job Responsibilities
  • Manages the evaluation, measurement, monitoring, and control of existing and new projects and programs, while ensuring continuos alignment with strategy and budget.
  • Coordinates the activities of cross functional teams, task forces, critical projects or initiatives, and ensures they are working as efficiently and effectively as possible.
  • Co-Manages the GFST Portfolio of Programs, ensuring alignment with various Business, Finance and IT partners. Continuously drives improvements into the process.
  • Support the Walgreens Boots Alliance (WBA) Project needs related to contracts through performing cost/benefit due diligence, building business cases for leadership, developing and liasoning with vendors, partnering with Procurement, and working with WBA Finance to ensure DOA approvals are obtained.
  • Develops and applies best practices and tools for project/program execution and management reporting.
  • Responsible for establishing departmental operational and accounting processes related to project resource sourcing; coding, validation, approval and processing of expense invoices; and vendor evaluation and utilization. Educates team on processes, methodology, and controls.
  • Monitors and reconciles project/program spend against budget and correct coding for all project invoices.
  • Makes recommendations to management
  • Facilitates and develops strategic communications for executive level management.
  • Collects, analyzes, compiles, and reports project strategy, planning & progress information, including financial, staffing, milestone progress and goal completions.

The actual salary an employee can expect to receive, plus bonus pursuant to the terms of any bonus plan if applicable, will depend on experience, seniority, geographic location, and other factors permitted by law. Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years experience in project management including managing a Project Portfolio and providing portfolio dashboards and reports , OR a High School Diploma/GED and at least 5 years of experience managing a Project Portfolio and providing portfolio dashboards and reports
  • Experience in business process management, identifying operational issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems.
  • Experience managing projects with multiple stakeholders in a global organization.
  • Experience with project management (for example: planning, organizing, and managing resources to bring about the successful completion of specific project goals and objectives)
  • Experience developing and delivering executive level communications and experience communicating across multiple levels of the organization
  • Experience using time management skills such as prioritizing/organizing and tracking details and meeting deadlines of multiple projects with varying completion dates.
  • Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Project (for example: adding resources to a project, assigning resources to a task, leveling resources across task, assigning costs to a tasks, tracking percent complete, start, and finish dates, and/or viewing progress through the Gantt chart or report).
  • At least 1 year of direct leadership, indirect leadership and/or cross-functional team leadership.
  • Willing to travel up to/at least 20% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).


Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years experience in project management including managing a Project Portfolio and providing portfolio dashboards and reports.
  • Master’s degree / MBA.
  • At least 5 years experience managing process improvement projects in Finance and/or Accounting.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Microsoft Project, Microsoft SharePoint, Visio, etc.)
  • Experience negotiating with outside vendors, including negotiating contracts, prices, resolving service issues and reconciling differences.
  • Experience communicating and articulating an issue or point of view to a varied audience both verbally and in writing

Salary Range: $92500 - $148000 / Salaried
