The Director, Client Development will lead the Client Development team for Walgreens Advertising Group. This strategic role will be responsible for driving revenue growth, fostering strategic partnerships, and delivering exceptional service to some of the largest suppliers and Joint Business Partners of Walgreens and largest clients of Walgreens Advertising Group. The Director, Client Development will partner closely with internal teams at Walgreens to monetize advertising opportunities in enterprise initiatives and ensure alignment between Walgreens and Walgreens Advertising Group goals.

Job Responsibilities
- Lead and inspire the client development team, providing strategic direction, mentorship, and guidance to drive individual and team success
- Develop and execute a comprehensive client development strategy for large, strategic suppliers of Walgreens and clients of Walgreens Advertising Growth, with a focus on driving revenue growth, enhancing client relationships, and maximizing client satisfaction
- Lead the end-to-end upfront commitment process from negotiation to contract closure, ensuring a seamless and positive experience for large, strategic clients on the Client Development team
- Deliver against the Client Development specific revenue goal including upfront commitments, commitment spend-through and upselling/growth above committed dollars
- Facilitate detailed account planning and forecasting and represent revenue pacing to goal in internal financial forums and to leadership
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers within large client organizations, including C-suite executives, Walgreens and drug channel sales leads, senior marketing leaders, media and brand leadership and leaders of retail media centers of excellence.
- Partner with the Walgreens enterprise team such as marketing and merchandising to integrate advertising solutions into enterprise initiatives and / or build new monetizable capabilities that meet the needs of clients within the Client Development team and Walgreens Advertising Group as a whole
- Act as a main point of contact between Walgreens Advertising Group and Walgreens Enterprise and ensure alignment between retail goals and media company offerings
- Monitor industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies to inform client strategies and enhance our value proposition for large clients
- Represent Walgreens Advertising Group at client meetings, industry events, and conferences to increase brand visibility, strengthen client relationships, and explore new business opportunities

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, Communications, or a related field and at least 10 years of experience in client development, account management, or related leadership roles within the retail media, media or advertising industry
- Leadership experience with a track record of effectively managing and motivating teams
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients and/or stakeholders at senior levels of an organization
- Strategic thinker with a proactive and solutions-oriented mindset, capable of identifying opportunities for growth and driving initiatives forward
- Highly organized with strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- At least 6 years of direct leadership, indirect leadership and/or cross functional team leadership
- Willing to travel up to 25% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state)
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or advanced degree
- At least 10 years of experience in managing clients and relationships
- Experience with the retail industry and advertising ecosystem, including knowledge of media buying processes, consumer behavior trends, and retail media landscape
- Results-driven with a proven ability to meet and exceed sales targets in a competitive and fast-paced environment
- Retail Media experience (e.g. Kroger Precision Marketing, Roundel, Walmart Connect, etc.)
- Experience with management of team members, including assisting in the development, training and assignment of work/projects to other members of a team
- Experience working with annual brand budgets and P&L concepts revenue, cogs, gross profit margin, operating expenses, and income
- Experience working with cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment.
- Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce)
