Senior Manager, Captive Manufacturing Planning

Job Summary

Responsible for aligning external (captive or contract) manufacturing capabilities with company goals, optimizing internal supply chains, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. This new role will collaborate closely with internal sourcing and procurement teams, along with partnering with external manufacturing companies to ensure efficient production, quality assurance, and cost-effective processes.

Job Responsibilities
  • Operational Leadership: Manage day-to-day operations of captive manufacturing units with a long-term perspective. Ensure production targets, quality standards, and delivery timelines are met while fostering collaborative relationships with external manufacturing partners.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement manufacturing strategies that align with an in-depth knowledge of corporate objectives, including capacity planning, resource allocation, and technology upgrades.
  • End to End Supply Planning: Setup, oversee, and optimize end to end supply planning from manufacturing to delivery, including lead time management, inventory planning, customs clearance, etc.
  • Process Optimization: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with senior management or executive levels in Owned Brand Sourcing, R&D, procurement, quality, and logistics teams to ensure seamless integration of captive manufacturing into the broader supply chain. Requires the ability to change things or gain acceptance from others in sensitive situations, without damage to the relationship.
  • Cost Management: Monitor and control manufacturing costs, including labor, materials, and overhead, and adhere to budgets.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure compliance with all regulatory, safety, and environmental standards within the manufacturing facility.
  • Team Development: Develops and mentors a team of supervisors, engineers, and technicians through on-boarding, open communication, training and development opportunities and performance management processes; builds and maintains employee morale and motivation; ensures the team is appropriately staffed with required competencies; fosters a diverse and inclusive workplace.

The actual salary an employee can expect to receive, plus bonus pursuant to the terms of any bonus plan if applicable, will depend on experience, seniority, geographic location, and other factors permitted by law. Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, industrial management, supply chain or related field.
  • Experience in manufacturing operations and supply planning.
  • Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and manufacturing analytics tools.
  • At least 2 years of experience contributing to financial decisions in the workplace
  • At least 2 years of direct leadership, indirect leadership and/or cross- functional team leadership.
  • Willing to travel up to 10% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state)


Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, industrial management, supply chain or related field.
  • Experience in captive, contact, or vertically integrated manufacturing environments (highly desirable.)
  • Experience in automation and digital manufacturing technologies.
  • Familiarity with sustainability and green manufacturing practices.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

    Salary Range: $115400 - $196200 / Salaried
