Job Summary

The Manager Clinical Program Development will be responsible for designing and implementing new clinical programs that support Walgreen's roadmap. This role involves collaborating with the clinical team and other departments to manage the design and prioritization of various clinical programs. The manager will facilitate and oversee a portfolio of programs at different development stages, from initial analysis and design to implementation. Additionally, the role requires engaging with external clients, such as payers and health system leaders, through regular meetings, feedback sessions, and ongoing communication to ensure program objectives align with client expectaions. Building and maintaining strong relationships with these stakeholders is essential to foster trust and effective collaboration. The manager will also contribute their expertise in healthcare delivery to inform program design and operations.

Job Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the creation and management of clinical programs across a broad spectrum of business opportunities in support of the company’s vision.
  • Ensures that all clinical programs exceed the requirements of partnership agreements, provide for optimal patient care, and concurrently drive profitable returns for the company.
  • Works collaboratively across Walgreen's Health and Walgreens to ensure clinical programs effectively address the needs of all stakeholders
  • Hires, trains and develops a team to effectively manage a portfolio of programs
  • Manages clinical programs that improve quality of care and reduce costs for customers/patients with common clinical conditions by leveraging Walgreens assets.
  • Maintains understanding of program performance and operations, proactively takes appropriate actions to maintain the company’s competitive posture in the marketplace. Identifies opportunities for improvement and collaborates with teams to implement solutions

The actual salary an employee can expect to receive, plus bonus pursuant to the terms of any bonus plan if applicable, will depend on experience, seniority, geographic location, and other factors permitted by law. Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree and at least 2 years of experience in managing Clinical Program Development, Quality Improvement and/or Population Health programs in a payor, provider, or population health organization OR High School/GED and at least 5 years of experience in managing Clinical Program Development, Quality Improvement and/or Population Health programs in a payor, provider, or population health organization
  • At least 3 years’ experience building clinical service models.
  • Experience working cross-functionally within a large company
  • Experience successfully managing a portfolio of programs / projects at various stages of development
  • At least 1 year of direct leadership, indirect leadership and/or cross-functional team leadership.
  • Willing to travel up to 10% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).


Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in an ambulatory healthcare delivery organization
  • Experience working on clinical models in risk-based financial arrangements
  • Experience working with health IT applications and data
  • Relevant professional or clinical degree (e.g. MPH, MBA, NP, RN)

Salary Range: $102800 - $164400 / Salaried
