Job Responsibilities
- Owns, oversees, and maximizes pharmacy supply chain relationships with Amerisource Bergen and other pharmaceutical wholesalers, including any supply issue, contractual disputes and discussions, daily and strategic operational points, recommendation and approval oversight of financial payments and fees associated with aspects of the wholesaler agreements. Includes discussion, development, and implementation of strategic programs or changes to current management of supply chain or overall purchasing decisions.
- Responsible for leading the delivery of robust problem solving and analytical skills and tools in order to identify cost savings and incremental revenue opportunities related to brand and generic pharmaceutical purchasing, pharmacy supply chain, and biopharm development. Communicates concepts, issues, recommendations, alternatives and implementation approaches to senior executives.
- Leads and represents Generic Purchasing & Supply Chain in mergers & acquisitions activity by providing synergy analysis and direction on bids, as well as leading key components for Generic Purchasing and Supply Chain in terms of transition and integration of acquisitions.
- Owns and responsible for creating processes and ensuring accurate pharmacy contract pricing as well as overall Pharmacy Item Catalog integrity for company systems (used in numerous financial reporting for Cost of Goods (COGs) and profitability analysis).
- Owns the contract management process across all pharmaceutical wholesalers to optimize profitability for pharmaceutical purchasing.
- Responsible for all pharmaceutical analytical support for Accounting and Accounts Receivable questions regarding calculations, reconciliations, or validations of any pharmaceutical item Rebate, Discount, Chargeback, Claim, etc.
- Supports and collaborates with Walgreens Boots Alliance Development (WBAD) global joint venture team on all generic purchasing and/or supply chain related pricing, reconciliation, or validation of certain vendor General Trade Agreements (GTAs).
- Oversees and collaborates cross-functionally and shares information relevant to strategic business improvement opportunities. Interacts with direct reports and peers in management /customers/vendors to share information and improve cross-departmental processes (Accounting, Finance, Legal, Rx Data Integrity, WBAD, M&A Analysis, Contract Management, Catalog Process, etc.)

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree and at least 6 years of experience in analytics, retail, and/or the pharmaceutical industry and/or health plans OR a High School diploma/GED and at least 9 years of experience in analytics, retail, or the pharmaceutical industry and/or health plans.
- At least 3 years of experience in attending to tactical details and synthesizing into the enterprise wide view.
- Experience with analyzing and reporting data in order to identify issues, trends, or exceptions to drive improvement of results and find solutions.
- Experience developing strategic initiatives which align with business goals and budget.
- Experience with project management (for example: planning, organizing, and managing resources to bring about the successful completion of specific project goals and objectives).
- Advanced level skill in Microsoft Excel (for example: using AVERAGE function, merging and centering cells, printing centered page and/or creating a pivot table).
- Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Access
- Experience collaborating with both internal and external resources to develop strategies that meet department and company goals within budget and established timelines.
- At least 2 years of experience contributing to financial decisions in the workplace.
- At least 3 years of direct leadership, indirect leadership and/or cross-functional team leadership.
- Willing to travel up to 10% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state)
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s/Advanced Degree or MBA
- Experience with advanced analytics, VBA, query/modeling
- Experience at Walgreens in any of the following departments: Finance, Supply Chain, Pharmaceutical Purchasing, Biopharm Development
