Job Summary

Leads and executes key process improvement initiatives and special projects within Pharmacy and Retail Operations that simplify team member tasks, provide a better and consistent patient experience, and ensure maximum efficiency and effectiveness. Projects will vary depending on the initiative, but will primarily focus on processes within the stores (i.e. Standard Operating Procedures, workflow, scheduling, etc.) and all store systems to ensure that the processes being performed are as efficient as possible. Utilizes continuous improvement principles and tools to achieve these results. Serves as a dedicated resource to work directly with other business units to support their projects, and ensure it can be incorporated into stores optimally. Provides subject matter expertise when evaluating new programs and processes designed to impact pharmacy and retail operations.

Job Responsibilities
  • Identifies and presents new pharmacy and retail project opportunities to leadership
  • Delivers process improvement and cost savings while ensuring quality, service, and productivity enhancements
  • Leads process/task force team efforts to develop and execute process improvement initiatives
  • Develops and maintains standard operating procedures for all core tasks within Pharmacy and Retail Operations
  • Continuously evaluates workflow and improve workflow to ensure the utmost efficiency with the stores
  • Develops scheduling tools and methodology to ensure store labor is allocated as effectively as possible
  • Serves as the champion for driving continuous improvement and awareness – ensuring the development of common solutions across the spectrum of business requirements within Pharmacy and Retail Operations
  • Creates a culture of continuous improvement within Pharmacy and Retail Operations by utilizing, reporting, and validating the value of changes through the use of various tools, practices, and philosophies, such as Six Sigma, Lean, and 5S
  • Prepares detailed plans to track project performance and assure the timely completion and attainment of project deliverables
  • Works collaboratively with management across the various business units and peer positions to identify and implement best practices
  • Participates in the development of training aids in support of the roll-out and ongoing operation of changes developed and approved for deployment
  • Travels to field to support process changes and provides feedback on adoption levels
  • Interfaces and negotiates with supporting functions, such as Legal, IT, Quality, and Regulatory to confirm that process optimization activities efficiently utilize the Company’s resources and ensure regulatory compliance

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of experience in retail operations OR a High School diploma/GED and at least 8 years of experience in retail operations
  • Knowledge of front end systems, processes, and integration tools used to optimize customer service
  • Experience collaborating with internal resources to develop strategies that meet departmental goals within budget and established timelines
  • Experience in identifying operational issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems
  • Experience collaborating with internal and external resources (such as cross-functional teams) to develop strategies that meet department goals within budget and established timelines
  • Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Excel (for example: using SUM function, setting borders, setting column width, inserting charts, using text wrap, sorting, setting headers and footers and/or print scaling)
  • Intermediate level skill in Microsoft PowerPoint (for example: applying a theme, formatting character spacing, inserting a picture, changing slide layout and theme colors, adding transitions, customizing slide numbers, changing chart style and/or formatting font)
  • Basic level skill in Microsoft Word (for example: opening a document, cutting, pasting and aligning text, selecting font type and size, changing margins and column width, sorting, inserting bullets, pictures and dates, using find and replace, undo, spell check, track changes, review pane and/or print functions)
  • Experience evaluating information to determine compliance with standards, laws, and regulations
  • At least 1 year of direct leadership, indirect leadership and/or cross- functional team leadership
  • Willing to travel up to 25% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state)


Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree or MBA
  • Experience with continuous improvement tools, practices, and philosophies, such as Six Sigma, Lean, and 5S
  • Experience with project management (for example: planning, organizing, and managing resources to bring about the successful completion of specific project goals and objectives)
  • Experience presenting to senior level meetings, including preparation of agendas, documenting meeting minutes, sending out documents to attendees

Salary Range: $102800 - $164400 / Salaried
