Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cloud Network Engineer to join our Cloud Engineering team. This role is pivotal in designing and managing cutting-edge cloud networking solutions with a focus on Azure and its integration with on-premises data centers. You will play a critical role in shaping our network architecture by leveraging infrastructure as code (IaC) to deliver secure, scalable, and automated networking solutions across hybrid environments.

In this position, you will be responsible for creating robust, high-performing network designs that support the connectivity and operational needs of our enterprise. Your expertise in Azure networking services, WAN engineering, and on-premises network infrastructure will ensure seamless integration of our cloud and legacy environments. By adopting modern practices such as IaC and automation, you will enable agility and operational excellence while maintaining strong network security and reliability.

As a Senior Cloud Network Engineer, you will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, including Cloud Architects, DevOps Engineers, Security teams, and Network Operations, to deliver cohesive and innovative network solutions that align with business objectives. You will also mentor junior team members and contribute to the development of best practices for modern cloud networking

Job Responsibilities

Architect and implement Azure-based network solutions, including virtual networks, subnets, network security groups, VPNs, ExpressRoute, load balancers, and private link services.
Optimize WAN connectivity to ensure secure, low-latency, and highly available communication between cloud environments and on-premises data centers.
Automate network infrastructure deployment and management using Terraform, Ansible, and other IaC tools, adhering to GitOps, declarative infrastructure, and automation-first principles.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate cloud networking requirements into broader CI/CD pipelines and DevOps workflows.
Monitor, analyze, and optimize network performance and reliability, implementing proactive measures to prevent disruptions.
Develop and maintain secure network designs by implementing advanced security configurations, including Azure Firewall, Web Application Gateway, DDoS protection, and zero-trust network models.
Partner with on-premises network engineers to design and maintain hybrid connectivity, including switching, routing, and firewall configurations across vendors like Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, and Fortinet.
Create and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including architecture diagrams, configuration templates, and operational guidelines.
Stay informed on the latest cloud networking features, trends, and best practices to ensure innovative and future-proof solutions.
Mentor and guide junior engineers to enhance team capabilities and promote best practices in cloud networking.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology or related field of study and at least 4 years of professional work experience in Engineering, Software Engineering or similar.
Experience writing code for moderately complex applications
Experience with programming languages for online applications, microservices or mobile applications
Experience designing/building moderately complex applications/automation
Experience writing automation test or deployment scripts
Experience creating coding/scripting solutions to fix moderately complex problems
Experience identifying operational issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems.
At least 2 years of experience contributing to financial decisions in the workplace.
At least 2 years of direct leadership, indirect leadership and or cross functional team leadership.
Willing to travel up to/at least 10% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).

Preferred Qualifications
· Design and implement Azure network architectures, including virtual networks, network security groups, VPNs, ExpressRoute, and peering configurations.
· Engineer and optimize WAN connectivity between cloud environments and on-premises data centers, ensuring low latency, high availability, and secure communication.
· Utilize infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform and Ansible to automate the deployment and management of network resources.
· Monitor and troubleshoot network performance, implementing solutions to improve reliability and reduce downtime.
· Collaborate with DevOps teams to integrate networking requirements into CI/CD pipelines.
· Apply advanced security principles to design and manage firewalls, application gateways, and network policies.

Mentor junior engineers and share best practices for modern cloud networking.
