Senior Director, Brand Procurement
Job ID 1785487BRThis position is crucial in driving the top line growth and bottom-line profitability of Walgreens Pharmacy business. This role will also lead a high-performing team of account management. This role involves pursing existing and new partnerships and strategies that drive growth in prescription volumes, revenue and profit, making it essential for this role to build strong relationships and networks. The role will guide the team in pitching innovative, integrated solutions to secure new clients and enhance relationships with key decision-makers. The Senior Director will lead the development and execution for sales strategies, forecasting outcomes, and aligning internal teams to meet ambitious sales targets, profitability goals and key performance indicators. The Senior Director will work closely with the Vice President, Brand Pharma Procurement and will be focused on business development, pharmacy profitability and identification of opportunities.
- Lead the development and execution of the overall specialty pharmacy new business strategy and tactical plans and work closely with the VP of Specialty Pharmacy Operations.
- Responsible for Business Development relating to brand pharma, pharmacy consultant communities, and small biotech companies to ensure inclusion in manufacturer RFPs and access to limited distribution drugs, CGT, rare/orphan medications.
- Will represent Walgreens Pharmacy at industry conferences, media, and external high-profile engagements.
- Drive connectivity between the pipeline and pharma manufacturers to enhance service delivery
- Proactively pursue strategic partnership opportunities to enhance the growth of the pharmacy business
- Function as a senior advisor to the Chief Pharmacy Procurement and Contracting Officer and VP Brand Pharma Procurement, synthesizing and communicating complex ideas effectively.
- Collaborates internally to ensure enterprise-wide alignment of brand pharmacy pipeline among cross functional teams
- Works with RFP team and key stakeholders to successfully respond to manufacturer RFPs
- Creates effective responses and finalist presentations to contribute gaining access to specialty products
- Monitors industry dynamics to successfully update strategies and Business Development focus.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and at least 8 years of Experience in the healthcare industry and Pharmacy Experience OR High School/GED and at least 11 years of Experience in the healthcare industry and Pharmacy Experience.
- Strong external network in Brand Pharmacy and Pharma.
- Business Development and negotiation skills with pharmaceutical manufacturers and experience within brand pharmacy.
- Knowledgeable about service delivery in the pharmacy business and narrate and influence pharma manufacturers in a pre sales process.
- Deep brand pharmacy experience with a proven record of success in delivering results.
- At least 5 years of experience contributing to financial decisions in the workplace.
- At least 5 years of direct leadership, indirect leadership and/or cross-functional team leadership.
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or Masters Degree in Healthcare Field
- PharmD
- Ability to be proactive – anticipates organization needs
- Management/business development skills and responsibilities (contract negations/brand pipeline)
- Ability to interact professionally with all levels of management, internal and externally
- Ability to handle large sized manufacturer relationships
- Strong industry specific knowledge, including demonstrated knowledge of procurement, reimbursement, brand pharmaceutical, pharmaceutical services and pharmacy distribution trends and practices.
- Critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills and creativity to develop new products and services to gain value from pharma
- Consistent, excellent follow-up skills, organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Ability to prioritize and focus given the dynamic nature of brand pharmacy (e.g. handling several projects, contracts, and internal meetings at a time)

The Salary below is being provided to promote pay transparency and equal employment opportunities at Walgreens. The actual hourly salary within this range $139,900 - $384,000, plus bonus pursuant to the terms of any bonus plan if applicable, that you will be offered will depend on a variety of factors including geography, skills and abilities, education, experience and other relevant factors. Salary Range: $186500 - $320000 / Salaried
