Reporting directly to the Vice President of Public Affairs, the Senior Director, Philanthropy & Community Giving, will oversee the development and implementation of short and long-term initiatives to maximize positive outcomes for the communities we serve, including our team members. This role will lead the strategic vision, planning and execution of Walgreens community giving and philanthropic efforts and is pivotal in developing and executing a comprehensive strategy for our organization, which boasts an endowment exceeding $10 million and annual giving more than several million dollars. This role is a critical thought leader who will be responsible for collaborating across departments and advising executive leadership, including C-suite leadership, on impactful ways to serve our customers and communities through philanthropic and giving strategies that align with company values.
- Strategic Leadership: Develops and implements a comprehensive community giving and philanthropy strategy aligned with Walgreens mission and values, including for the Walgreens Foundation.
- Corporate Positioning: Optimizes Walgreens positioning as a corporate leader committed to improving the health and well-being of the communities we serve, while developing and implementing best-in-class community giving and philanthropic practices. Represents Walgreens in appropriate public activities and events, such as community events.
- Governance and Compliance: Ensures robust governance practices by working cross-functionally to establish and lead a committee responsible for assessing recommendations and conducting audits of philanthropic activities
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to identify, evaluate and prioritize philanthropic opportunities.
- Program Management: Oversees the planning, execution, and evaluation of community giving and philanthropy programs and initiatives. Develops operational process to measure outcomes and optimize based on results.
- Team Leadership: Manages and mentors a team of professionals dedicated to community giving and philanthropy.
- Reporting and Analysis: Monitors and reports on the impact of philanthropic initiatives, ensuring transparency and accountability.

The actual salary an employee can expect to receive, plus bonus pursuant to the terms of any bonus plan if applicable, will depend on experience, seniority, geographic location, and other factors permitted by law. Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and at least 8 years of experience developing, executing and integrating corporate philanthropic strategy/planning and or High School/GED and at least 11 years of experience developing, executing and integrating corporate philanthropic strategy/planning.
- Bachelor’s Degree and at least 8 years of experience in corporate philanthropy OR High School/GED and at least 11 years of experience in philanthropy.
- At least 8 years of experience building and managing a team and leading cross-functional committees.
- Experience interacting at the executive level and influencing senior leaders to achieve organizational objectives
- At least 5 years of experience contributing to financial decisions in the workplace.
- At least 5 years of direct leadership, indirect leadership and/or cross- functional team leadership.
- Willing to travel up to 25% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state)
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree and/or advanced degree (Master of Business Admin, Public Affairs, Philanthropy or other relevant area of study)

Salary Range: $186500 - $320000 / Salaried
