Senior Software Engineer I - Full Stack Java (Supply Chain)

Job Summary:

The Senior Software Engineer supports the development and delivery of supply chain systems, including (but not limited to) warehouse management systems (WMS), transportation management systems (TMS), logistics platforms, and related integration services. This role requires strong experience in system design, deployment automation, configuration management, and end-to-end monitoring of supply chain applications. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in software engineering and DevOps practices, with proven experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines tailored to enterprise-scale supply chain environments. Additionally, the role includes mentoring junior engineers and contributing to a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement across supply chain technology initiatives.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Plans, designs, develops and tests software systems or applications for software enhancements and new products including cloud-based or internet-related tools. Writes code that meets specifications, typically for large and highly complex software programs and systems. Develops software applications and tools. Participates in software design.

  • Demonstrates proficiency in most areas of the professional function and in-depth specialization in some. Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Anticipates and prevents problems and roadblocks before they occur.

  • Networks with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise to exchange semi-complex information related to assigned activities.

The actual salary an employee can expect to receive, plus bonus pursuant to the terms of any bonus plan if applicable, will depend on experience, seniority, geographic location, and other factors permitted by law. Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and at least 4 years of experience in Engineering, Software Engineering or similar field OR a High School Diploma/GED and at least 7 years of experience in Engineering, Software Engineering or related field

  • Experience in Engineering, Software Engineering or similar field

  • Experience writing code for moderately complex applications

  • Experience with programming languages for online applications, microservices or mobile applications

  • Experience designing/building moderately complex applications/automation

  • Experience writing automation test or deployment scripts

  • Experience creating coding/scripting solutions to fix moderately complex problems

  • Experience identifying operational issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems

  • At least 1 year of direct leadership, indirect leadership and/or cross-functional team leadership.

  • Willing to travel up to 10% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology or related field
  • 3+ years of experience as a Full Stack Engineer or in a similar role.
  • Experience identifying operational issues and implementing strategies to resolve problems.
  • Strong experience working in an Agile environment.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written

    Technical / Functional Skills:
    -Proficiency in Java is required; knowledge of .NET is desirable.
    -Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or Retail Supply Chain applications.
    -Experience with Material Handling solutions integrated with WMS systems.
    -Experience working with vendors on integration solutions.

    Full Stack Development:
    -Hands-on experience with full-stack development, from front-end user interfaces to back-end systems.
    -Proficiency in software engineering best practices, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
    -Strong hands-on experience with technologies such as Java, NodeJS, React, JavaScript, SQL, NoSQL, Spring, and Python.
    -Expertise in Enterprise Integration Design patterns for developing loosely coupled, resilient systems.
    -Experience in designing distributed SQL and NoSQL databases like MongoDB, Cassandra, MySQL, and Oracle.
    -Experience with modern UI frameworks like React, with knowledge of client-side security and front-end design patterns (stateless components, conditional rendering, hooks, etc.).

    DevOps:
    -Experience with deployment automation for applications on IaaS and PaaS platforms (Windows or Linux).
    -Experience with building and managing CI/CD pipelines for cloud deployments using Docker.
    -Familiarity with GIT workflows and repository management.
    -Experience with Kubernetes and microservices architecture.
    -Good understanding of infrastructure components, including databases, networking, DNS, cloud services, and containerization.

    Data & Analytics:
    -Experience with integrating and transforming data from structured and unstructured systems.
    -Familiarity with Azure cloud technologies like Data Flow, Data Bricks, and Azure Synapse.
    -Knowledge of data pipeline tools like Talend, Change Data Capture (CDC), Spark, and Azure APIs.
    -Experience using reporting tools like Power BI, Cognos, or Tableau.
    -Knowledge of data classification, naming, data design, and the creation of DDL (Data Definition Language).
