Pharmacist Roles within Walgreens

At Walgreens, our neighborhood pharmacies are at the core of how we serve our communities. When most people think of Walgreens, they picture the familiar face of their local pharmacist — the trusted professional they see regularly.
But there’s much more happening behind the scenes. Beyond the pharmacy counter, we have multiple layers of pharmacist support that many patients — and even some team members — may not be aware of.
Our Community Pharmacy Support pharmacists work directly with patients and prescriptions in non-store settings, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. We also have Pharmacist Leaders who drive operational excellence, clinical outcomes, team engagement, and patient care across our locations. At our Support Center, a dedicated team of Corporate Support Pharmacists works across various departments to enhance safety, compliance, operational efficiency, and strategic partnerships.
