Summer Community Pharmacy Internship

This is your opportunity to experience the difference we make every day, as you interact with patients and learn how our pharmacists impact health and wellbeing. This program delivers a personalized experience based on your current school year – ranging from topics like prescription medications to herbal products, and disease state information to pharmacy laws and ethics.

Pharmacy Technician Externship Program

Technicians are a critical position in the pharmacy. That’s why we offer early training through this robust program. You’ll begin gaining real-world pharmacy experience on day one, applying classroom knowledge in diverse settings like community and specialty pharmacies, centralized services and micro-fulfillment sites. Guided by experienced Walgreens preceptors who are invested in your growth and future success, you’ll receive personalized mentorship and training with cutting-edge pharmacy technology. Our program emphasizes collaboration with healthcare professionals and supports patient-centered care and impact through counseling, medication management and vaccine advocacy. Career readiness is empowered through structured IPPE and APPE rotations, while networking opportunities help you connect with professionals across the organization. This program, which exists through partnerships with educational institutions, gives you first-hand experience of the pharmacy technician role.

The Walgreens Pharmacy Educational Assistance Program (PEAP) provides annual awards to Walgreens pharmacy interns enrolled in a professional pharmacy program. If the award is granted each year of pharmacy school enrollment, this could amount to $40,000 total.
