Pharmacy education assistance
We’re big fans of our pharmacists. After all, pharmacy and the Walgreens brand go way back. That’s why we created programs that are dedicated to supporting you and your education. You can get financial assistance for each year that you are enrolled in pharmacy school. Sure, it’s a big investment. But it’s one we’ve seen pay off in our pharmacists we have throughout the organization that were previous Pharmacy Educational Assistance Program (PEAP) scholarship recipients.
Professional Educational Assistance Program
The Walgreens Pharmacy Educational Assistance Program (PEAP) provides scholarship awards to pharmacy students during each year enrolled in a professional pharmacy program while working for Walgreens as a pharmacy intern, up to $25,000 total.
In exchange for each award, the pharmacy student will be required to sign an agreement that includes a 1-year work commitment as a registered pharmacist at Walgreens. The work commitment is the total number of years a pharmacy student received an award. If you leave before those commitments, you do have to pay back the award.
Program details:
For pharmacy students enrolled in a 4 year program:
1st through 3rd years = $5,000 for each year
4th year= $10,000
For pharmacy students enrolled in a 3 year program:
1st through 2nd years= $7,500 for each year
3rd year= $10,000
The application submission deadline is April 1, 2024. Rx students must submit an application through the PEAP System, from September 1, 2023 through April 1, 2024.
Getting started
Once you’re a Walgreens team member, you can contact the healthcare supervisor in your area to apply for our Pharmacy Education Assistance Programs. Applications for the 2022-2023 school year will be accepted based on your graduation date:

- 2023-2024 graduates who have not previously received an Educational Assistance Award – January 1 through July 31
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get my user ID and password?
Please contact your Healthcare Supervisor if you’re interested in the program. If you do not know who your Healthcare Supervisor is, please ask your Store Manager. If approved for this program, you will receive an email from our online system with the user ID and password that you will need to complete the application. Please remember that the application is a two-step process. You begin by filling out your personal information and then choose the award you wish to apply for.
How do I become a Pharmacy Intern at Walgreens?

How do I know what district to apply for?
You should apply in the district you intend to work in after you graduate from pharmacy school. If you don’t know where you plan on working, you can ask your Healthcare Supervisor.
What if I lost my user ID and/or password?
Click here** to get a new one. Under the "Sign In " button, you’ll see three options for your individual situation. They are: "Forgot your password? ", "Forgot your User ID? " and "Forgot your User ID and Password?".

What if my user ID and/or password do not work?
Your user ID and password are case sensitive – so first things first – check that caps lock button. After five failed login attempts, you’ll be locked out of the system. But don’t worry – email the Educational Assistance Coordinators at peap@walgreens.com for a new password. Please only contact the Coordinators one time, as multiple requests will result in your account being reset multiple times.
How can I check on the status of my check?
Start by logging into the Pharmacy Educational Assistance website ** with your user ID and password, then click on "View application/award statements." You can see your check status there.

How long does it take to receive a check?
It typically takes about three months from the date you submit your application to the date we send your check. Please remember that three months is only an average.
Do I need to update my year in school online?
No. That is one of the great things about our online system. We’ll automatically update your year in school before the beginning of the next school year. Of course, if your graduation date changes for any reason, you’ll need to update your profile/year in school in our online system.**
